This number is due in part to the daily posts made during the launch of A Pioneer Christmas Collection and the spontaneous moments of insanity last spring when the sunshine and birdsong and lilac-scented breeze seemed to prompt an overwhelming effusion of words that I had to get down on the page (and then I had to send them out into the world, of course.)
It was quite nostalgic reading through all of the posts. And, along with my amazement at the number 119, I was also amazed at the post that garnered the most views--nearly 1,000 more views than the #2 ranking post. So here are the top 3 posts from The Silent Isle (according to Blogger Stats) from 2013.
#3 POST: Had I But Known the Price of My Marriage - one of my early posts for my blog series that describes my experience of marrying an immigrant. (The word "immigrant" sounds weird, like I'm living in 1901 and standing in New York harbor waiting for my mail order husband's boat to dock. Glad that's NOT what happened.)
#2 POST: Remembering October 26: my greatest fear realized - this was a difficult post to write and to read again as it describes a traumatic day in the life of my family, especially when thinking of what could have been.
#1 POST: For Better or Worse (and how I just might need to object) - a post in which I look at Time Magazine's decision to name Hitler as Man of the Year in 1938.
Surprised at what made it to #1? Yeah, me too. But maybe some good food for thought as we head into a new year.
Happy Wednesday!

You should, Debbi! It's fascinating and fun!
DeleteI liked all those posts, but I wouldn't have guessed #1. The thought of you standing on the dock awaiting your mail order hubby is hilarious. Maybe you should write a book :D

DeleteHaha - I'll add that to my list of book ideas. (Have you seen my list, by the way? It's on a used envelope with a single-item grocery list with the word "creamer" on the other side...) :) Thanks, Danni! Love seeing you here!
DeletePS: Sorry about the deleted reply to your comment--I couldn't put a coherent sentence together this morning til after I had my coffee.
